Snow farm

This past December we got a lot of snow, nearly 60cm (almost two feet). As usual, some complained of the cleanup and shovelling and skiers were pleased. I'm somewhere in between. The shovelling, although great exercise, means large snow hills blocking roads and views. But I like a good covering of snow in the winter to justify the cold temperatures. As a bonus, the lack of any strong winds, and a dump of wet snow before the cold and fluffy snow, meant all the evergreens were covered to ensure a lasting winter wonderland

Last week I ventured out at lunch to go for a walk in the snow and get some shots with the wide-angle lens. My usual route was well snow bound, but thanks to some snowshoers, I had some sort of path predefined.

This shot is one of my favourites. The field around the barn is untouched, and the blue sky and sun make for a neat picture.
